And now, the end is near

And so I face the final curtain

I'll state my case

of which I'm certain

내 사례를 말하겠네
I've lived a life that's full,
난 가득찬 인생을 살았고,
I traveled each

and every highway
난 각각 모든 길을

여행했다네
And more much

more than this,
그러나 더,

그 무엇보다 더 중요한 점은
I did it my way
내 방식대로 했다는 거네

Regrets, I've had a few
후회라, 몇 번쯤 있었지
But then again,

too few to mention
다시 생각해보면,

말할 만큼 많지도 않지
I did what I had to do
나는 내가 해야 할 일을 했고
And saw it through

without exemption
예외 없이 끝까지 해냈지

 

I planned each

charted course
나는 미리 계획된

경로를 따랐고
Each careful step

along the by way
그 길을 따라 신중하게

한 걸음 한 걸음 내디뎠지
And more much more than this
그러나 더, 그 무엇보다 더 중요한 점은
I did it my way
내 방식대로 했다는 거네

Yes, there were times,
그래, 그런 때도 있었지
I'm sure you knew
자네도 분명히 알았을 거야
When I bit off

 

more than I could chew
내 능력을 넘는 일을 맡았을 때
But through it all

when there was doubt
그 모든 어려움을 겪으며

의심이 들기도 했지만
I ate it up and spit it out
난 해냈고 치워버렸지
I faced it all
난 모든 것을 정면으로 맞섰고
And I stood tall
당당히 버텼지
And did it my way
그리고 내 방식대로 했네

I've loved, I've

laughed and cried
난 사랑도 했고,

웃기도, 울기도 했지
I've had my fill,

my share of losing
나는 충분히,

내 몫의 상실도 다 겪었지

And now as

tears subside
그리고 이제 눈물이

가라앉고 보니
I find it all

so amusing
그 모든 일이

참 즐거웠다고 느껴지네

 

To think I did all that
내가 그 모든 걸

해냈다고 생각하니,
And may I say,
그리고 이렇게 말할 수 있겠지,
Not in a shy way
부끄러움 없이

For what is a man?
